PRODUCT CARE
The wooden pieces are crafted from solid wood, a material that may naturally season and shift over time. Given the thickness of the wood, there could be residual moisture present. It's crucial to ensure that proper air circulation is maintained around each product.
These items are intended for indoor use. To preserve the natural beauty of the wood, we recommend regular polishing with Danish oil. Please note that our products, designed as tables or plant stands, are not load-bearing.
Avoid placing the products in overly dry environments, such as near radiators, as this may have a negative effect on the timber.
How to maintain the wood products:
Regular cleaning: Wipe the wood surface regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt and avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the finish.
Touch-up as needed: If you notice any scratches or small imperfections, you can touch up the affected areas with a small amount of Danish oil.
Reapplication:
Reapply Danish oil annually (or as needed). Lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper before applying a new coat of Danish oil. See quick guide on how to use Danish oil below.
Protect from sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause wood and finishes to fade over time. Consider using window coverings or moving items periodically to prevent uneven fading.
Use coasters and mats: To protect surfaces from spills and heat, use coasters under cups and mats under hot dishes.

Here's a quick guide on how to use Danish oil:
The following is a guide and should be read in conjunction with Danish oil manufacturers' recommendations.
1. Prepare the surface: Remove any dust or debris from the surface.
2. Stir the Danish oil: Danish oil tends to separate, so be sure to stir it thoroughly before use.
3. Apply the Danish oil: Use a brush or lint-free cloth to apply the Danish oil evenly onto the wood. Work in the direction of the wood grain and ensure complete coverage but avoid applying too much oil in one go.
4. Allow penetration: Let the Danish oil penetrate the wood for about 15-30 minutes. This allows the oil to soak into the wood fibres.
5. Wipe off excess (if necessary): Using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, wipe off any excess oil on the surface. Be thorough but gentle to avoid streaks.
6. Allow drying: Allow the first coat to dry for at least 24 hours. The drying time may vary depending on environmental conditions.
7. Repeat (optional): If you desire a deeper finish or additional protection, you can apply additional coats. Repeat steps 3-6 for each coat. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next.
8. Final sanding (optional): Between coats, you can lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper to achieve a smoother finish.
9. Cure time: Danish oil continues to cure over a few weeks. During this time, avoid placing heavy objects or exposing the wood to extreme conditions.
10. Finish: Once satisfied with the appearance and protection, your project is finished.
Tips:
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Dispose of oil-soaked cloths properly to avoid the risk of combustion.
- Experiment on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure the desired finish.
- Follow the specific instructions on the Danish oil product you choose, as formulations can vary.
